No features held back on the smaller plans: the only difference is how many words you get each month. Pay monthly, or annually for about half the price, and move up or down any time.

How words are counted
You pay for what's written, never for what's planned. Here's one standard comparison article:
- When you start an article, the top of its length is set aside from your balance, so you always know the most it can cost.
- When it's written, you're charged the words it actually wrote, and the rest goes straight back.
- If it runs long, the extra words are on us. You never pay more than was set aside.
- If it fails, every word comes back.
Billing questions
What's the difference between the plans?
Only the words. Starter gets 25,000, Pro gets 250,000, Scale gets 500,000 words a month. Every plan has every template, every length, web research, bulk batches, WordPress publishing, and every export.
Is annual billing different from monthly?
Only in how you pay. Annual costs about half as much: Pro is $324 a year, which works out to $27 a month instead of $57. You get the same words every month either way.
Can I change plans later?
Yes, any time from Billing. Moving to a bigger plan adds the extra words to your current month straight away, and Stripe charges only the difference for the rest of your billing period. Moving to a smaller plan takes effect when the period you have already paid for ends.
Do unused words roll over?
No. Each month starts with a fresh set of your plan's words, whether you pay monthly or annually.
What costs nothing?
Rewriting a section, up to 3 times per article. Editing the HTML. Sending to WordPress. Exporting. Articles that fail. Words a draft runs over its length.
What happens if I run out of words?
Articles you've already written stay yours to edit, publish, and export. New articles wait for your next month's words, which arrive on the date shown on your dashboard, or you can move up a plan and keep going today.
I need more than 500,000 words a month.
That's Enterprise: a monthly word amount set for your volume, billed by invoice. Contact sales and tell us roughly how many articles you publish a month.
Is there a free trial?
No. Every account gets the full product from the first day, and you can cancel any time from Billing.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
Cancel any time; your plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for. Payments aren't refunded for partial periods. The details are on our refunds and cancellation page.
How do I pay?
By card, or another method Stripe offers at checkout. We never see your card number. Receipts and billing emails come from Stripe, and you can update your card or change plans from Billing.
